FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Common questions about research peptides — what they are, storage, reconstitution, testing, shipping and more.
Research peptides are short chains of amino acids synthesised in a laboratory and supplied strictly as research reagents. They are studied in controlled laboratory settings and are not approved for human use. MYOLABS supplies them for laboratory research use only — not for human consumption.
Research use only means a product is supplied solely for laboratory and research purposes. It is not a medicine, is not for human or animal consumption, and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
Lyophilisation is a freeze-drying process that removes water to keep a peptide stable for storage and shipping. The compound is supplied as a dry powder and reconstituted in the lab when it is needed for research.
In the lab, a lyophilised peptide is reconstituted by adding a suitable solvent — most commonly bacteriostatic water — to the vial and letting the powder dissolve gently. This is a standard laboratory preparation step.
Bacteriostatic water is sterile water containing about 0.9% benzyl alcohol, a preservative that inhibits bacterial growth. In research it is commonly used to reconstitute lyophilised peptides, and the preservative allows a reconstituted vial to be used over a period when refrigerated.
Lyophilised (powder) peptides are best kept cold, dry, and out of light — refrigerated or frozen in their sealed vial. Once reconstituted, store refrigerated at 2–8°C. Always handle and store in line with your institution's research protocols.
Stored correctly as a sealed lyophilised powder, peptides can remain stable for many months to a couple of years. Once reconstituted and refrigerated, they are typically used within around 28 days.
Yes. Our compounds are independently tested for purity and identity, and a Certificate of Analysis (COA) — a lab report confirming what is in the vial — is available for tested products. Any product without one shown has a COA available on request.
MYOLABS supplies all products strictly for laboratory research use only. Research compounds are not approved for human use, and researchers are responsible for ensuring their use complies with all applicable laws and regulations in their jurisdiction.
